CROPPING FACTOR

 Back to Buying Prints        Home

The majority of digital and film cameras take photographs in a ratio of 3:2, meaning that to get the full frame print you need to order prints in a size that is 3:2.

The sizes of our prints that are 3:2 are: -

75cm x 50cm [30in x 20in], 60cm x 40cm [24in x 16in], 45cm x 30cm [18in x 12in], 30cm x 20cm [12in x 8in], 22cm x 15cm [9in x 6in]

Orders of these sizes ensure that you get a full print of what you see on the page.

If you opt for sizes other than this it is necessary to crop into the print at the top, bottom or side [only one side is necessarily effected] in order to print at a size that is not 3:2.

Frames that are 3:2 in ratio are readily available in larger centres and occasionally turn up in Karratha. The popular photo frames in major shops in Karratha  [Kmart, Thingz, The Other Place and the Kodak Shop] are 20cm x 25cm [8in x 10in] which is a 5:4 ratio or 5in x 7in  which is a 2.5 :3.5 ratio.

Please bear that in mind when ordering your prints.
